- The Department is a full member in the Association of European Conservatories, Music Academies and Music Universities (AEC) and the International Association of Schools of Jazz (IASJ). Professor Haris Xanthoudakis is also a member of AEC board of directors.
- The Department takes part in the AEC Pop and Jazz Exchange Platform and is a subscriber to the partners/users of the Parisian Institute for Research and Coordination of Acoustics and Music (IRCAM).
European Credit Transfer System
In order to facilitate student mobility and exchange under the Erasmus programme, the Department has adhered to the European Credit Transfer System. The course credit value is calculated as follows: 1 credit unit = 2 ECTS units, with the exception of the following courses:
Compulsory Courses
Aural Training semesters 1, 2, 3 and 4 - 2 credit units = 2 ECTS unit
Introduction to Music Theory, semesters 1, 2 - 2 credit units = 2 ECTS unit
Music Anthology, semesters 1 and 2 - 2 credit units = 2 ECTS unit
Foreign Language, semesters, 1, 2, 3 and 4 - 2 credit units = 2 ECTS unit
Rhythmic Training in Jazz 1,2 - 2 credit units = 2 ECTS unit
Music Education 2 - 4 credit units = 4 ECTS unit
Major courses/ degree courses - 2 credit units = 10 ECTS units
