Welcome to the website of the Postgraduate Program in Music Pedagogy offered by the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University. The Postgraduate Program in Music Pedagogy provides advanced academic and professional training in the field of music education. For the academic year 2025–2026, the program offers only the specialization: “Music Education in Schools and the Community”, focusing on inclusive and context-sensitive approaches to music teaching and learning.

This innovative Postgraduate Program stands out for its interdisciplinary and inter-artistic approach to music education, as developed by the Department of Music Studies at the Ionian University. Emphasizing on the integration of theory and practice, the program supports diverse and dynamic methods of music teaching and learning, both within formal school settings and in broader community contexts. These principles reflect the Department’s commitment to methodological excellence and its forward-thinking perspective on the field of music pedagogy.

The duration of the MA program is four (4) semesters, corresponding to one hundred and twenty (120) ECTS credits. The combination of theoretical and practical/laboratory teaching aims to deliver a postgraduate education of academic excellence, oriented toward well-grounded creative practice.
