Guitarist and composer Stefanos Andreadis has collaborated with many important musicians in concerts, competitions, workshops, international Jazz festivals and recordings for radio and television programs (UK, USA, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Albania, Cyprus and Greece). He awarded with the ‘Hallward prize 2002-2003 for Musical Composition’ (UK) and was a finalist in the ‘Auros’ International Competition 2003 (U.S.A.) with the composition Melos I. With his string quartet No 2 ''Klimax'', Stefanos took an honorary award in the 2nd Pan-Hellenic composition competition of chamber music (Athens-2004). The same piece was selected by the famous "Kreutzer string quartet" in a workshop at the C.B.S.O center (Birmingham-March 2005). “Melos I”and ‘‘Klimax’’have been published. He has received commissions from the Univerity of Nottingham, Greek composers Union, Athens Megaron organization, London Sinfonietta, the orchestra of the municipality of Patras and Ionian University.

With brilliant studies in Greece and the United Kingdom, with a doctorate in composition, he is since 2007 a member of the teaching Jazz Music Department of the Ionian University. In May 2010, he recorded with Dimos Dimitriadis, George Kontrafouris and Alexandros Drakos Ktistakis, his second personal album (first Flying Jazz), which includes 8 songs of his composition. Flying Jazz is a modern jazz group built around the electronic sound of Hammond Organ (the album released in September 2013. In December 2015, Stefanos recorded the second ‘Flying Jazz’ Album (To Eternity)... published in April 2017 with the same group and the contribution of the trumpet player Andreas Polizogopoulos. In 2017 the Flying Jazz group became a trio: George Kontrafouris always on Hammond Organ and Vasilis Podaras (Billy Pod) on drums. The last five years the trio has been performed from small jazz clubs to international jazz festival. Flying Jazz trio recorded a new album in 2019, Flying Jazz Trio-Nostalgia (7 original compositions by Stefanos) released by L39 in January 2020. In the summer of 2021 the Flying Jazz trio recorded a new album called ‘Abel’ (eight pieces, 6 originals and 2 covers), which is published by Irida Jazz Label in October 2022.

In his musical journey so far, Stefanos Andreadis has displayed a strong mix of elements, choices and experiences that make up his musical personality and his identity as a creator: Original ideas, on which he bases his compositions, his tenacity and devotion to his purpose and aesthetic choices and patience and perseverance in building his musical identity that make him stand out and conquer his own space the Greek jazz scene, which has evolved to become particularly rich, dynamic and demanding. Since 2017, Andreadis' musical vehicle, the "Flying Jazz Trio", consists of himself on guitar and compositions, his permanent collaborator, the imaginative Hammond Organ virtuoso George Kontrafouris and the creative drummer Billy Pod. His new album, “Abel", which follows in a long tradition of organ trios featuring the electric guitar, manages to simultaneously stand out emphatically on the one hand with its intense melodic and flowing soundscapes where the guitar is at the forefront and on the other hand, with its groove that stems from the combination of hammond organ and drums and which appears when and where it is called for, bringing forth a final result of high musical quality with expressive power and sonic intensity. It would be difficult for me to single out any one of the tracks on the album since they make up a cohesive musical narrative with lyricism and a blue atmosphere, but also a playful mood and bohemiancarelessness. In the interests of clarity, however, I will mention the title track, "Abel" that opens the album and stands out for the crystal purity brought out by the notes of the guitar, "Turn Out The Stars" for the creative and tender orchestration of by Bill Evans, a tribute to the great American pianist, "Melancholy In London", generously dedicated to drummer Vassilis Podaras by the composer and "I once saw Anna" by Dionysis Savvopoulos, where Andreadis brings out the tender melancholy of the excellent original through his own charming jazz atmospheres.

In September of 2024, Stefanos Andreadis, George Kontrafouris and Nick Thessalonikefs (on drums) have completed the recording of the new Flying Jazz Trio alboum, which is going to be released soon.
