GUEST PROFESSOR – The world-renowned conductor of children’s and youth choirs ZIMFIRA POLOZ, Conductor of the Hamilton Children’s Choir and guest professor at the University of Toronto, CANADA
Zimfira Poloz specializes in the pedagogy of children’s choirs particularly the age group of 8 – 14 years. She applies an original and innovative method in the development of vocal development for young people. The Hamilton Children’s Choir, which she has directed for many years, is considered one of the best children’s choirs in Canada and has won gold medals in some of the most significant choral festivals worldwide.

Application Form
TEACHING PROGRAMME:
α) Lab choir (SSA) ages 8 – 14 years, with which Poloz will apply her method of singing for young people.
b) Vocal development for young Choirs.
c) Choral conducting Technique with participants conducting.
d) Rehearsals with the participant’s choir with which Poloz will rehearse a
particularly interesting choral repertoire.
During the duration of the Summer Academy there will be concerts of young people’s choirs in the evenings and a final concert of the participants choir July 6th conducted by Poloz.
DAILY SCHEDULE:
10.00-11.15 Choral Pedagogy with children’s lab choir
11.30-12.45 Vocal technique for conductors
12.45-13.00 Questions and discussion with Poloz
17.00-18.00 Conducting Technique Practice (non-compulsory)
18.00-19.15 Choral Conducting Techniques
19.30-21.00 Choral rehearsal of the participants’ choir.
21.15-22.00 Choral Friendship Concerts (free admission for participants)
Monday July 6th
20.30 Participant’s Closing Concert at Ionian Academy.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation equivalent to 2 ECTS.
PARTICIPATION FEE: 250 Euro
