Introduction
The 3rd Emil Gilels Piano Festival will be holding masterclasses for the participation of twelve young pianists from around the world. These will be given by Robert Levin, Lilya Zilberstein and Dimitri Bashkirov.
Schedule of masterclasses
Each participant will be given one class with each Professor. The lessons will take place from the 14th-19th of March 2016 in the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and are open to the public. Tickets can be obtained online or at the event. Participants of the masterclasses are granted free access to all the festivals concerts as well as Robert Levin’s lecture.
Practice facilities
The Hochschule für Musik Freiburg will provide practice rooms for all participants.
Accommodation
The participants will be kindly hosted by host families in Freiburg.

Applicants should submit a recording of at least 3 works from contrasting stylistic periods. The total duration of the recording should not exceed 40 minutes and should not be older than one year. We do not expect the applicants to present a professionally produced recording or video. Recordings should not be edited before submission.
Fees
The cost of the masterclasses consists of an application fee and a participation fee.
Application fee:
The application fee is €80 and is only refundable in the case of the masterclasses being cancelled by the organiser.
We can only accept application fees paid via bank transfer. Please do not send cheques or cash in the post.

Course Fee:
The fee for the course is €570 and is payable once an application has been confirmed. The fee should be transferred to the above account within two weeks. Please include your name and ‘Course fee’ as the transaction reference.
Selection
The jury will select participants based on the merits of the candidate’s DVD/CD audition. The results of the selection process will be disclosed by the 31st of January 2016. The decision of the jury is final and cannot be contested. Entries are accepted until 31 December 2015.
