The City of Corfu, the Ionian University and the Corfiot Events Organization are launching "Corfu Jazz World", a world-class jazz festival and academy.

The 1st Corfu Jazz World which will take place from the 24th until the 29th of July 2017, includes concerts and seminars with great artists.
Concerts will take place from the 24th until the 28th of July 2017, while Jazz Academy will take place from the 24th until the 29th of July 2017.
The Corfu Jazz World Director, saxophonist and Professor of the Ionian University Dimos Dimitriadis states that:
Jazz is at the same time the youngest among western art music traditions, as well as the first global popular music in history.
Corfu is the island of music: birthplace of the oldest western musical tradition in modern Greece, and host to the best jazz academic program in the country.
