Eri Nakagawa, a native of Japan, earned her Doctor of Arts degree in piano performance from Ball State University, Indiana, USA. She also attended Osaka Kyoiku University and Mukogawa Women's University in Japan. She studied with Koji Tanaka, Naoyuki Inoue, Michel Bourgeot, John Kozar, Pia Sebastiani and Mitchell Andrews. Eri Nakagawa has received numerous prizes and awards such as the second prizewinner in the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra Young Artist's Competition and the winner of Ball State Graduate Concerto Competition as well as the recipient of BSU New Faculty Creative Arts Award. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as Manchester Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Mozart Ensemble, Nusantara Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Chamber Symphony and Thuringen Gotha-Suhl Philharmonie. She has also been active as a chamber pianist and accompanist.
Eri Nakagawa has been on the faculty of College of Music, Mahidol University in Thailand since 1995. She is currently Assistant Professor and Head of the Piano Department. Her previous teaching positions include Assistant Professor of music performance at Ball State University.
